Evidence and review

OncoBrain keeps source material, AI suggestions, the patient chart, and advisory drafts separate. That lets you see what supports a statement and decide what belongs in the chart.

What each item means

You see	It means	What to do next
Source	The original uploaded or pasted record, or a record from a connected electronic health record (EHR) or health information exchange (HIE).	Open it when the wording, date, or context matters.
Candidate finding	An extraction proposal with a link back to its source. It is not in the chart.	Accept, edit, or reject it in Extraction review.
Patient chart	Findings committed from Extraction review or entered directly by a clinician.	Saving an edit confirms that fact. Other unconfirmed changes still need review.
Saved	The current chart matches its latest confirmed snapshot.	Use it as the reviewed patient-state context for new drafts.
Draft	AI-generated, cited advisory material for a particular set of case inputs.	Check the evidence, gaps, and currency before acting.
Marked reviewed	An acknowledgment of an eligible artifact in this workspace.	It is not a signature or a clinical decision.

A source can inform a draft before its findings are accepted into the chart. A citation helps you find the supporting passage; it does not prove that the statement is correct, complete, or applicable.

Patient sources lead to proposed findings and clinician review. Add and confirm saves selected facts and a confirmed snapshot together. A direct chart save confirms the edited fact only. Advisory drafts can use original sources and confirmed chart context. — AI proposes findings; clinician review writes the chart. A source can support a cited draft before becoming a chart fact. Review a finding

In Extraction review, select Prepare findings after adding sources.
Open the evidence for a proposed finding and compare it with the original record.
Choose Accept, Edit, or Reject for each proposal. These choices remain staged until you commit the review.
Select Add and confirm to add the reviewed findings and save a confirmed chart snapshot.
Open Patient chart to verify the current record. Saving a direct edit confirms that fact alongside the previously confirmed facts. If other changes remain unconfirmed, review them and use Confirm changes.

For example, if a proposal says calcium is 10.8 mg/dL and the report says 10.6 mg/dL, edit the proposal to 10.6 mg/dL before committing it. The source, original proposal, clinician correction, and later chart state remain distinguishable.

Use drafts safely

A draft preserves the case material available when it was generated. New sources, chart changes, guidance updates, or changed trial records can make a result Needs refresh. Generate an updated draft before relying on a stale result.

Before using a consequential draft:

Check the cited passages and the original source when needed.
Look for missing, conflicting, or partially readable information.
Confirm that the chart reflects the facts you want the draft to use.
Update a draft that is marked Needs refresh.
Review the relevant clinician-controlled surface before treating it as current: a treatment working selection, trial pursuit decision, referral disposition, or reviewed artifact.
